You probably already know that you need to visit our dentist if you experience issues like dull or sharp pain, bleeding or inflamed gums, or tooth sensitivity to hot and cold. You should also visit us if you have a dental emergency, like a fractured or cracked tooth. Yet, have you been told that it’s important for you to schedule an appointment with our team every six months, even if your teeth and gums look and feel fine?

One reason these dental visits are so important is that they’ll give our team the ability to clean your teeth and gums more thoroughly than you can yourself. For instance, if you miss an area of your mouth consistently, tartar can form on your pearly whites, which could lead to gum disease. Moreover, even if you spot tartar from home, please don’t try to remove it yourself. Otherwise, you could damage your teeth. Luckily, our team can remove tartar safely and tell you about certain areas you may be missing when you brush and floss.

We’ll also inspect your teeth for other issues that you may not be able to notice by yourself. Sadly, gum disease may be fairly difficult to identify, but our dentist and our team are trained to spot and treat issues like gum disease. In addition, many people also suffer from tooth decay but are not aware of it. However, if you don’t address either of these issues, it will lead to more serious problems and you could eventually lose your tooth. We’ll also inspect your teeth for symptoms of oral cancer.

Lastly, our dentists, Dr. Michael T. Tobola, Dr. K. Tracy Grindling or Dr. Kyle Grindling are happy to answer any questions that you may have.
